Dr. Lito Amit is an educator, researcher, and ergonomic consultant passionate about making work safer, healthier, and more human-centered. His interdisciplinary work sits at the intersection of occupational ergonomics, occupational safety and health, and public health, bringing together research, teaching, and real-world practice to address the challenges workers face on the job.

 

Dr. Amit holds a Doctor of Health Science in Public Health with a specialization in Ergonomics and a Master of Science in Occupational Health (Ergonomics) from Daegu Catholic University in South Korea. He also earned a Master of Arts in Science Education from Christ the King College and a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education, majoring in Biology, from Northwest Samar State University in the Philippines. He is currently pursuing a Master of Public Health (MPH) at Dartmouth College, further expanding his perspective on population health and evidence-based practice.

 

As a faculty member, Dr. Amit teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in occupational safety, hazard identification, human factors and ergonomics, and safety research methods. His research explores how emerging technologies, human-centered design, and evidence-based interventions can improve worker health, safety, and performance.

 

Beyond the classroom and laboratory, Dr. Amit is committed to community engagement and translating research into practice through ergonomic consulting, professional education, and partnerships with organizations and communities. Whether he is teaching future safety professionals, mentoring students, conducting research, or working with organizations to solve real-world workplace challenges, his goal is simple: to make safety not just a requirement, but a better way of working and living.

 

His work and community contributions were recognized through his selection to the New Hampshire Union Leader’s 40 Under Forty Class of 2026.
